4Excellent
By Esther Sky
I was a little wary about spending about $33 (after tax) on this cooling stand as I couldn't find much reviews but I'm happy I bought this.

I honestly don't care for the look of this item but it's not so bad once you get used to it. I like how it's made of organic bamboo though. It's built excellently for airflow which I will elaborate on later. The gripes I have regarding the design are only a few.

First, I would not recommend this item if you would like to use it on your lap or for portability. It's not comfortable and there are sharp/scratchy areas. If you see a picture for this item, pay attention to the front portion of the stand. The bottom also has full access to the fan as it's only protected by some plastic. I think it's the same material as the fan. If by chance you applied pressure while the fan is on and you're moving the stand, the pressure can force the fan to stop. I found this out accidentally and wished there was some bamboo that would have covered the fan to prevent it from happening. Otherwise, it looks like you can easily unscrew it for cleaning. It's not much problem for me though since I mostly move from one table to another. I try to be careful not to touch the fan though to avoid damaging or breaking it. To sum up, this stand is good for desk/table use and not so much for lap.

Second, the stand does not fit my 15.6" laptop that's slightly on the wide side. Even though the info says it can fit up to 17 inches, it's a couple of inches too little. I'm glad the stand has two rubber strips on the front though along with two moveable pieces since my laptop slips on the stand. I hope there will be an even bigger version of this fan in the future since it's definitely too small for my laptop.

What I do like about this item is that the fan and air flow is excellent (as least compared to another cooling stand that did nothing for my laptop). The fan is definitely large as it takes up a large portion of the size of this stand. And it works great! I can sit inches away from the laptop and can still feel the cool air blowing. It's kind of cold since it is still winter but since my laptop doesn't stay cold no matter how freezing my house is, the fan does an excellent job cooling. The fan is also extremely quiet. The first time I plugged in it, I was wondering if it was working since I couldn't hear it. When I was about to lift my laptop to check, I felt the cool air coming out. So yup, didn't need to check in the end.

I also like how it's plug-and-play. It works the second you plug it in. And despite taking a USB hub, it doesn't actually take any. You can plug another USB directly into this fan's port which is excellent since I'm always needing to plug something in (whether my camera, phone, iPod, and all the miscellaneous items I have). I kind of wished the cable/USB wasn't black however as it doesn't match well with the bamboo or the clear colored fan. The cable can also be easily hidden under the stand so you don't see it sticking out.

Another good feature for me is the back end portion that can be expanded or collapsed depending on your need. Since my chair is relatively too high for the height of my table, expanding the support on the back helps bring the height of my laptop a little under 4 inches higher. I think this certainly helped me with my sticking-my-face-into-the-screen problem since it used to be too low. Which not to mention, was a pain in the neck. Literally.

So all in all, this is an excellent fan. It does it's job well and is extremely quiet. It's a good option to consider if you're looking for a cooling stand for desktop use. It's a bit expensive but it's well worth it.

5Quiet & Attractive
By Swiss American
This is one fantastic cooling "rack" I got to replace a very noisy plastic version, and I really like it. It's super quiet, it has a pass-through USB connection, and it looks great on my desk. A bit pricey, but worth it over the cheaper, clunkier, noisier stand I replaced.
