4Very Useful... But I'm not using it for a Netbook!
By Cary L. Brown
If you happen to have any normal electronics device.. in my case, I have a Linksys Wireless-N router (WRT610N v2)... which gets too hot and either risks harm to your furniture or behaves erratically when it overheats... you need this. It's ideal for my router. If you have an unused USB port on your device, you can power it directly from the device, since it's USB-powered. If you don't have one, you can use any "mini-USB" charger adaptor (I'm using one of my spare Motorola Mini-USB chargers, which came with a blu-tooth headset) and it'll work just fine.

Basically, this is what's keeping my (poorly-designed, with awful heat management!) Linksys device functional. I was seeing my connection drop out regularly, and I discovered that this was a common complaint among owners of these devices. I also found that someone else had determined that the "Canadian" version of this was perfectly suited to that router, fitting underneath it perfectly. Well, the only difference I see between the US and Canadian version is the color... and I like the black US version better anyway!

(EDIT: One note... this device doesn't use an actual Mini-USB port, which you'd probably have assumed from what I wrote above. The cable provided is "proprietary" in a sense... it's a smallish coaxial plug, not a USB plug, but it's on the end of the USB cable. So I snipped off the USB end piece on the charger I mentioned above and soldered an appropriate plug (gotten from Digikey) onto the wire end. Just wanted to make that clear!)

1Worked for a Week
By Logan
I returned this item after a week of use, it stopped working. I purchased a replacement and that stopped working after a week as well. Needless to say I do not recommend this product.

2Get what you pay for
By E.D
This was a great deal, however, the quality was not.
I ordered the chill mat after experiencing an issue with my netbook getting too hot.
This chill mat worked great for the first few days I had it. It was quiet and kept my computer cool. However, only 4 days after having it, it stopped working entirely. Maybe I just received a faulty product. After sending it back, I'm not too sure if I will buy another to replace it.
